BOUND BY LOSS & REIMAGINE REDDITCH
Living Willow Structure - Community Peace Garden @Matchborough Pond, Redditch February-April 2025.
The Bound by Loss project by @ReimagineRedditch was envisioned by ILdi to engage with the local community in Redditch to create a place of remembrance for those young people who lost their lives, leaving an empty space
behind in their friends and family lives. Creating the living willow dome and tunnel together, engaging with the parents and other members of the public; has helped to give focus & purpose in their lives. Beside the living willow we also planted other beautiful scented plants with calming properties in the community Peace Garden. We also bought 3 planter benches (painted to redditch colour palette) which are providing place for more plants and for remembrance and contemplation by the members of the public. The various plants are enhancing the biodiversity of plants and wildlife in Matchchborough area. The willow as it grows will attract more and more singing birds which is known as the best cure for grieving. Personalised padlocks were engraved for those who departed from this realm.
